“We can never change the past, but we can always learn from it to create a better future.” — Dalai Lama

An Appeal to the World: The Way to Peace in a Time of Division is documentation of the interview between Franz Alt and His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama. Every answer is a themed chapter either on compassion, happiness, hope, love, humanity, friendship and so on or an inspiring message and comment on way of life.

A refugee and a simple monk, His Holiness is a symbol of peace all over the globe. Despite the ongoing struggle for tibetan freedom, where chinese doesn’t seem to change their stand, he is full of hope.

The book is a very light read and it took me about an hour or just one sitting to finish from end to end. Within simple words, a stronger message has been communicated.

We as humans are divided by religion, something which we weren’t born with in larger sense. We were born humans and must practice humanitarianism. He professes secular ethics above religion.

The anecdotes will bring smile on your face. His Holiness is a wonderful energy around, whether you meet him in person or just think about him.

Practicing mindfulness and establishing a sense of belonging with every sentient being can make the world a much beautiful place, than it already is.

When one seeks calm within, they can help in projecting it around their immediate surrounding.

Do read the book and experience peace and happiness, and try practicing it in daily life.

“The real meaning of our life, which we all pursue, whether with or without religion, is to be happy.” — Dalai Lama
